Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon. Panorama Route, Mpumalanga. South Africa.
April 2012.

In the States, we have squirrels. In the more forested areas of South Africa, they have vervet monkeys (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) – a bit like squirrels, I suppose, but with opposable thumbs, more impressive canine teeth, and a much greater mental capacity.

Second in a series on the Panorama Route – named for its breathtaking vistas – outside Graskop, Mpumalanga, near South Africa’s border with Swaziland.
